Poetry is necessary. It nourishes, feeds the less fleshy portions of our being. It sustains us. Puts us in contact with the sublime. Shows us parts of others, of ourselves, of our world; guides us through trecherous days; predicts the future; sparks our imagination.

Though, poetry's bones are art. And the aim of this blog is to discuss the art form in many ways. There will be discussions of craft, announcements of new books, inquiries into life, celebrations of poets and language, and cultivations of the imagination. Poetry is the pinnacle of language, and savoring it makes us better humans.
